1. Who we are

Colver Construction Ltd (trading as Colver Construction) is the data controller for the personal information described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company no. 16276062.

2. What we collect

When you send an enquiry through the form on this website: your name, company (if you give one), email address, phone number (if you give one), the property postcode, the kind of client you are, the type of job and how urgent it is, your description of the work, any photos you choose to attach, and, if you tell us, how you heard about us.

When you call, message or email us (including WhatsApp): your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us.

When you use the website: our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and keep the site secure. If, and only if, you accept analytics cookies, we also collect which pages you visit, the device and browser you use, roughly where you are (town or region, worked out from your IP address) and which links you click.

3. How we use it, and our lawful basis

To reply to your enquiry, arrange a site visit and send a quote — because you asked us to, before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). If you contact us on behalf of a business, our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to that business's enquiry.
To carry out work we have agreed with you, invoice it and keep the records the law requires — contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
To keep the website working and secure — our legitimate interest in running a safe website (Article 6(1)(f)).
To understand which pages are useful and which bring enquiries — only with your consent to analytics cookies (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only with the providers that help us run the business, who act on our instructions:

Website hosting and the enquiry form's server (Vercel).
Delivery of form enquiries to our inbox (Resend).
Our business email provider, where enquiries and emails arrive.
Website analytics, only with your consent (PostHog, EU hosting).
Our accountant, bank and insurers, and trades or suppliers working on your job where they need your details to do it.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where a transfer is not covered by UK adequacy regulations (such as the UK–US data bridge), we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work: 24 months from the last contact.
Quotes, contracts, invoices and job records: 6 years after the end of the financial year in which the work finished, for tax and to deal with any claims.
Analytics data, only if you accept analytics cookies: up to 14 months.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
delete information we no longer need (records we must keep by law are kept for their required period);
restrict or object to how we use it;
send it to you or another organisation in a portable format;
stop using it where you gave consent (for example, analytics cookies).

Email accounts@colver-construction.co.uk. We reply within one month and do not charge unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

7. How we protect it

Your information is kept in password-protected systems with access limited to the people who need it, and two-factor sign-in where it is available. The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

8. Children

This website is for adults arranging building and maintenance work. It is not aimed at children.

9. Changes to this notice

We update this notice when the way we use information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
